Why is my dog acting out like this?

My doggie is feeling way better he is eating now. But the doctors didnt give him no pain medicine. He is eating and all but he is displaying some weird behavior. If I go to the bathroom and close the door he will piss and crap on the floor. And he is already potty trained. Why is he doing this. I just adopted him from the doggie pound about a week ago. I just dont know what to think. Can someone please help?

First of all…when I bring a new dog into my home I fully expect it to “mark” at least once in the first week…AND, when I take one of my pups in to be neutered or spayed, I fully expect them to have an accident at least once after bring them home. Your pup just got a double whammy…new home and neutered all at once.

The antethesia really does send them for a loop…that’s why I expect a “just fixed” pup to forget and urinate or defecate right in front of God and everybody, like they had never been trained.

A dog who is in a new enviroment, doesn’t necessarily KNOW where the door is…by that I mean he knows when you show him, but can’t remember when it’s not in front of him (plus that antethesia doesn’t help his memory)…Treat him like he’s a puppy, and take him to the bathroom with you, or crate him before you go in…for the time being “housetrain” him just as if he was 8 weeks old…

It’s going to take a couple of weeks to get to know him, and for him to acclimate to his new home…just be patient…let him feel secure…no yelling, no “BAD DOG”…just get to know him for a couple of weeks…it will be at that time, you’ll know more about WHO he is…when he’s comfortable and has healed.
