Going to a school against your religion?

Give this Catholic private school a shot and, since its probably going to be temporary, you need to learn to adapt to their beliefs the best you can. If the Catholic private school is your only option, then you need to try to get along even though you might disagree with the beliefs. I don’t know how they’ll react to you being Atheist, but, you can always ask questions about the Catholic faith even though it might be hard to become a religious person. Good luck, and I hope the Cathlocs treat you well. They better respect you and your beliefs.

I would suggest giving it a try. See just how ‘catholic’ it is - many catholic schools are only religious in passing. The catholic church is surprisingly up to date when it comes to science, too. If you find that their religious affiliation is interfering with your education, find somewhere else to go.

pittdad: So are you saying that the only reason you don’t go around stealing, lying, murdering, etc, is because you are afraid of retribution from god? That if you had a ‘free pass’ to, say, kill someone with permission from god, that you’d go do so without remorse? If so, good news! The bible tells you to stone adulterers, witches, blasphemers, rebellious children, and many more.

I’m guessing, however, that you don’t do that for the simple reason that those who claim their moral code is defined by God and The Bible, don’t. Anyone who did live by the moral code defined by the bible would be a thoroughly unpleasant person.

With no God you have no worries! You can lie, cheat, and steal feeling no remorse. Go to the school: sure, you will be lying to others in the name of their God, but not yours, for you have none.

Most Catholic schools do not require you to be Catholic to attend. But keep in mind, you will still be required to participate in Catholic religious activities. If you’re ok with that, then go for it.

I would attend where you get a better education.

better you go to that school if you really wanted their uniform…lol
