Braiding a Baby Money Tree

We have a 6 foot money tree in our office, and it has new growth at the top.
We are thinking about trimming the new growth, and start a new Baby Money Tree.

How mature does the new growth have to be before we can trim and braid?

Would be put new braided Baby Money Tree in water to root, or just soil?

I’m not sure about the maturity and trimming part, but I’m pretty sure I remember that it is supposed to be soil. You can call a nursery in your area and ask if they know or if they can direct you.
