I use Yahoo mail constantly but I have heard that google mail is much better. Is 'www.yahoomail.com' still a viable and decent place for free email?

Yahoo! Mail is apparently going through a "retooling" process and testing it out on its' users as it strives to meet their cumstomers' needs. Either that, or they put a really bad mail site out there before it was ready. The new sight does give you choice of returning to the original site, but who knows how long that option will exist for its customers?

I have switched to Gmail or google mail which I like a little better for the ad filters. I send people to my old yahoo account that I don't actually want to talk to or get any mail from.

Its depend on you, which email account you wants to use. Yahoo mail is also good. yahoo also use beta version. Both gmail and yahoo mail are good to use.

on yahoo you can talk to people with msn on it but with gmail you can only email them , nearly are my mates are on msn so I hardly ever go on gmail

I've used Hotmail since I was about 11 years old, and I've never had any problem with it at all. Spam filters are lacking a bit now, but everything else works just fine, and it's easy to use. You have the option of "classic" view and the new "windows live mail" view. One gives you more space, if you need it, the other loads faster, pick your battles I guess.

I use gmail. I get no spam whatsoever, it is brilliant! Yahoo and Hotmail seem to be filled with spam.
