most americans seem to think the english (yeah im english btw) have posh accents but its just different to theirs thats all but when you see on tv people trying to do posh accents pretending to be english that is annoying cus its not like that at all.. I mean seriously you wouldn’t think the same if you visited some parts of london..

Answer #4

In general a lot of people think that English all talk posh because it’s a stereo-type. As well as the queen there are also posh actors and these group of people represent England. When Americans see them speak like that they think everyone speaks like that.

Also any people on youtube doing an “English” accent on youtube are speaking in a posh English accent because it’s EASY to do, a northern or east-london would be a lot harder. Plus the if they do the posh accent anyone will instantly recognize it.

xD

Compared to an American English accent, British people all sound like the Royal Family.
