Why bother living? What keeps you going when none of this mattes? Why strive to experience anything if when we die ther is nothng? What is the point of living?

What’s the point of your existence when if you die you’ll live for eternity. Sit back a moment and think of the UTTER BOREDOM that you will experience living that long.

Furthermore who said that this life doesn’t matter, why are you ignorantly assuming that life doesn’t have a meaning for atheists? The point of living is to enjoy life.

why the outward resentment in belief in anything we dont all resent religion. I dont. my parents are pastors and I go to catholic school I have no problem with others beliefs, it is there opinion. I just dont happen to agree with it

Im not talking about true athiest with no morals I have morals. you shouldnt kill. You shouldnt steal. Yous shouldnt be a worthless slut. You should think of others before yourself. I agree completely with all of those. I just believe them for myself, not because god said so.

You have since you were young, questioned everything. Even thoes things that to you yourself know its kind dumb to disagree with. So you question just because that is the way you are I dont question for the sake of questioning. I have honest questions that I feel cannot be answered by god and the bible.

It is a fact that people that believe in a creator live better lives oh is that a documented fact? hmm thats odd. last time I checked just as much shit happens to christians as t does atheists. I love my life. I have my friends, I have a beautiful horse, good grades and a great future ahead of me. my dads friend who is a pastor is clinically depressed, got kicked out of his church and his house his mom and dad died and his wife left him. does he really have a better life than me? I think not. LIving life good or bad is the luck of the draw and how you chose to live, it doesnt matter what your beliefs are.

They understand that the experience they have in life is what is important. For you, you die and there is nothing yes when you die all is over. But thats ok because you have lived your life to the fullest and it was time to let it go.

Why bother living? um family? friends? dreams? goals? career? happiness? love? just because we dont believe in god doesnt mean life is a meaningless hell hole.

I just think to understand something one must understand all the sides of it. well maybe thats true. everyone is entitled to their opinions and do you think that you understand all sides of christianity and more than we understand all sides of a world without god? nobody really knows, not christians, not atheist, nor muslims or hindus or pagans. Nobody knows and nobody ever really will. but we all have our own opinions and stand by them. Its just the way we are.

I have actually the same feeling tat religion does not answer the interesting questions. So I turn to science to fill in the gaps. String theory if concidered one of the 5 theorys sais that tings on top of this are bigger not smaller, makes sense. Resoning would be,, Like us living on a paper plate in a kitchen and with the limit of our 3 dimentional bodies, cant see the rest of the kitchen only the paper plate. I think the question posed is backwards. If you believe eternal happiness awaits you after this world of suffering and trial, why not kill yourself now?

For me, as an atheist, this life is the only chance I have to know enjoyment, and so I plan to live as much as I am able. The life itself is the point. Christians live their lives in preparation for their deaths. I live my life to enjoy my life. I don’t need a reason to feel peace or joy or fulfillment. If you do, you are welcome to it.

My system of belief does not arise from questioning what I was taught, as I began to learn of the scientific and the religious theories regarding life and the nature of existence at the same time, not one before the other. I did not see any explanations in the religious that could not be answered by the secular. The religious explanations simply made no sense to me, metaphor or no.

And the sun will exhaust its supply of hydrogen in 5 billion years, not 1 trillion.
