What is the future of this technology of batteries?

For Batteries what is the future of this technology? I would like to know atleast 3 and kinda talk about them cause the ones I found are kinda lame.

Recently, at one of the universities, (I forgot off hand just which one), they have just invented a new type of battery that will be revolutionizing the field of electronics in the very near future. If I recall correctly, the battery is made out of a piece of paper. It is then sprayed with a type of finish that will hold a charge. I am told that they will hold a charge much longer than the current Nickle Cadium batteries .. as perhaps used in Ipods, etc. They are thinner, weigh less, and hold a charge longer. You should be hearing more about them in the near future as they are introduced to the public.
