He is only allowed to marry within his church?

Well I’ve liked this guy whose name is Jimmy. And well I know he likes me too. I can tell by the way that he looks at me. But we are never going to be able to be together because of his religeon. He is Christian and I found out a couple of days ago from my best friend (his sister) that they are only allowed to date and marry people from their own church and they dont believe in divorce. What am I supposed to do? Should I change my beliefs just to be with him? I dont know what to do. I need some help

Answer #1

I am a Christian, and I never heard that before. You can be any religion, and still be a Christian. It is not what you do, or don’t do, that makes you a real Christian – it is what you are on the inside.

Answer #2

I wouldn’t change. those churches say they aren’t trying to actually RECRUIT people… but what is that? FORCING someone to chance churches/religions JUST to be with a certain person… yeah, that is bull sh*t.

Answer #3

Well what religion are you? If your not his religion and your a strong believer of yours.. don’t do that over him.. I’d say keep it secret but that’d be bad. If he REALLY likes you.. he’ll disobey his parents.. I would.

Answer #4

if its real love religion shouldnt really get in the way no, never change who you are and your beleifs for someone else if you must, both of you should compromise you should try to talk to him more and get to know each other if you like him christians TEND to marry other christians but usually if people are accepting of them theyll date someone else same with you, you shouuld find someone who accepts you

Answer #5

dont change how you believe just for a guy I agree with chrislol

Answer #6

Some churches are like that and, if you two want to be together, one of you would probably have to convert. If you start getting serious, then either you or him would have to convert. His church is like that and, maybe if he really wants to be serious, then his church is going to have to understand the fact that you are serious. So, I would sit down with the Pastor or preast and, tell the Pastor or Preast the situation. I would also recremend trying out his church. Maybe attend a service and see how you like it. Good luck.
