How can I get my puppy to stop jumping on me in the pool?

When I swim my puppy, Sam, jumps in and swims to me and tries to get on top of my shoulders/head. I want to stop this because he is a Chocolate Lab and will be getting big soon. I’ve tried pushing him off but then he just keeps coming back. So I’ve tried holding him in my arms but he starts biting my hands and it really hurts. And he knows where the steps are but when I put him there he just jumps right back after me.

My dogs name is Sam too! try throwing him a treat somewhere else. and teach him to listen to you when you say no to things like that. Say no, and if he obeys you, throw the treat. He will eventually learn:)

Put a leash on him and tie it to a something so he cant reach the pool or put him in the house while you swim and then let the dog back outside to play when your done or you can do what hales said and teach it to not do that.
