Why does my puppy bite me, and is she going to stop later?

whenever i come home and feel like petting my pup she starts biting me. I know shes just playing but its just really annoying sometimes and it hurts too. i can’t pet her without getting bit. i hope this is just her puppy phase will she do this when she grows???

Answer #1

Teething, she’s a puppy. They always do that. She’ll grow out of it, & if not then training is always an option.

Answer #2

Yeah will stop, give them a toy to chew on

Answer #3

shes got plenty of toys but likes to chew on my stuff. my slippers are getting smaller every day i always forget to hide them when i leave lol. i can cope with that but not with chewing my hands. do u know how long her teething will lasts shes 7 months now?

Answer #4

well it might be a phase it might not so you should probably start teaching her wrong from right while she is still young so then she will grow out of it like if she starts biting you just pick her up and put her down somewhere and walk away puppies need a lot of attention and time to train them to how you want them its best to start when their young so they learn quicker and can adapted

Answer #5

Omg I remmeber when our dog was a puppy, everytime I wud walk she bite at my ankles, and then if I was on th efloor she would grab my hair on her mouth and yank it back and forth like I was a rag doll, not fun.

Answer #6

Its all about training your dog…When we got out puppy doberman at 3 months, she was a wild one…constantly running around looking for shoes…and every time she got a shoe we trained her by saying bad dog, and taking the shoe away! Then we gave her something else like a stuffed animal or rubber toy & those bones they love chewing on. When she got out of control, we put the leash on her to teach her that she is not allowed to be like that. When we took her out to the park for exercise she got to run around for 2 hours & take out all that frustration. It’s all about proper training. We also took her to a trainer so she learned as well as we learned how to behave with her as well! You have got to teach your dog that you are the boss, not they are your boss or it can get chaotic. Like jumping all over you…is an absolute no I see how my our doberman jumps all over my brother & mother…but I taught her not to jump on me. She scratches my mom & leaves her bleeding all over her forearms. That is bad training on their part…

Answer #7

No. You need to train her. Like all behaviors, they generally dont ‘grow out’ of them unless properly trained. Give her chew toys, don’t allow her to play with your hands as if they’re toys (as tempting as it is to play with her, don’t allow her to playfully bite your hands, she will think this is ok, and will continue to do it even when not playing, and adult bites are a lot more painful than puppy bites). And yes, a little bit of the energy is baby energy, she will grow out of that.

Answer #8
