My dog is scared of everything

My daughter has a Boarder Colli/Lab mix and she is afraid of everything! We thought that it was because she was a just a puppy, but now she is now 8mo and the only thing different is that she now is not afraid of my husband and son. Is there something that we can do to get her not to be so scared of everything??? Please help! Thanks ~ Worried Owners

If I were you, I would google an do some research. Do you know exactly where your dog is from (breeder, shelter, etc.) because a lot of the time dogs can be scared because of experiences in their home before they came to you. Your dog could have been tramutized by something in her old home. Also, border collies can be skidish breeds, gluing to one person and only 1 or a few people. I have a blue merle miniature australian shepherd named lily. She very protective of me and often snaps at our other dogs if they get to close to me or my dad (alpha male…lol) Do you have access to a tv? On animal planet, (channel 63 for me) there’s a show called dog whisperer by caesar Millan. Watch it for a while, see if it helps. Also MOST IMPORTANTLY: iF I WERE YOU I WOULD I WOULD LOOK UP LOCAL DOG TRAINERS OR BEHAVOURISTS IN YOUR TOWN AND ASK THEM TO VISIT, THEY CAN REALLY HELP. bECAUSE THEY ARE PROFESSIONALS, THEY CAN ADVISE YOU ON WHATS GOGIN ON. AS A LAST RESORT (I’M SURE HE HELPS A LOT BUT I’M SAYING LAST RESORT BECAUSE I AM SURE ITS EXPENSIVE, AND THERE ARE PROBABLY TONS OF OTHERS TRYING TO GET ON THE SHOW OR HELP FROM CAESAR…) I WOULD CONTACT CASEAR MILLAN THE DOG WHISPERER AND SEE WHAT CAN BE DONE THERE. Good luck! I hope everything works out…!!! ~Carrie~
