Cat has lump on jaw

ok im really really scared
he has about a golfball sized lump on his jaw
but they're isnt a wound of anything just a lump
but he acts normal eats sleeps plays
what could it be
please help
hes a mental cat
and so loving I dont want to loose him

it could me an absess, I know you said theres no wounds but there may be tiny bite marks that you couldnt see, if it has just appeard then its more than likely 2 be an absess, he could have a bad tooth in his mouth wic has caused an infection wich caused the abses so I would advise you to take him the vets to get some antibiotics for him if it is an absess, otherwise it could burst and its not even worth mentioning what other problems would happen!!! so please take him the vet and hope your cat gets better soon xxx

VET!! My first thought was an abcess from a bite...or it could be a tooth...either way, he'll need antibiotics.

Only the vet will be able to tell, because cats are strange about pain - they can go on eating, playing and purring even when they are in pain.

Please take your cat to the VET! ASAP...
I think abscess also...
but please take him to the vet.
