How do I meditate?

How do I meditate I was going to try it but I dont know what to do?

maggot, im sorry but I must dissagree, or I understand the question wrong. what you said, is the common way to just relax from a fight with a friend/love/parents or anything like that, just to relax, and think of nothing.

there is another side for meditation, and it is connecting the body and the spirit into one unit, to make ones results in everything you wish, better. used a lot in martial arts, some call it Resolvation.

to do it, well, its a bit complicated. but in a few words, it is simple. if you are in any action, delete all your thoughts, and trust your body only, let it work for you, and dont think about what you do. a body is a well built machine, and works pefectly without a pilot. a machine that has instincts programmed inside, and has everything that would make every action perfect, all you need to do, is let go of the wheel, and let it do its job.

the other part of the meditation, is to connect to your spirit to usually relax, and forget everything. that is I cannot tell, the Resolvation is something that is not so dangerous, its more off a psychology, sort off… to connect to your spirit, is a very dangerous and restricted technique, learned in all martial arts, and im not here to kill somoene with an advice.. I’m sorry in advance.

-Put on some relaxing music at a soft volume level -Put a cover out for you to sit on -Sit on the cover and close your eyes folding your legs -Fold your hands like if your holding your girlfriend/boyfriend’s hand -Sit for however long you wish

inn order to medatate follow these step

  1. find a quiet place
  2. sit and cross your legs 3.relax and breath in and out think calming thoughts aka go to your haappy place

Contrary to darkgladi’s explanation, which was a good answer, there is no certain way to meditate. It depends on the person that is meditating. I sit or lie in a quiet place and clear my mind of all things. This is easier said than done. You have to concentrate very hard, so remove all distractions. Once you have cleared your mind, imagine releasing all the tension and troubles from your body. Imagine that they are a coil of smoke drifting away from you. Just let it all go. Before you meditate, research breathing techniques that are used in yoga. Breathing is a main concept of meditation. Good luck! And if you need any more help, feel free to funmail me. Sam

First,find a place that is quiet then sit on your buttocks, sit not Indian style but this is not easy to explain but I to have many years of defence training which helps me to get into certain positions,second put your heels together,try to force your knees to the floor without hurting yourself ,always keep your back strait and look forward with your eyes shut,rest your hands on your knees and breath through your nose in/out normally and concentrate on breathing only,you must clear your mind of evrything around you for this to work,think/concentrate only on breathing this is very important ,once you get the hang of it you will be amazed,this is from experience thats how I know.
