What Kind of Dog Should We Buy?

My dad wants another dog now, and it’s been 5 years snice our Chow Chow died. He either wants a PitBull or a Husky. The dog will prob. be a In & Outside dog, b/c it’s starting to get SUPER cold outside. We know people say PitBulls are not safe dogs, but we belive it’s the owner not the dog. If you train(dad starts training dogs when their pups so their listen when they get older)to be mean and nasty then it’s a high chance the dog will hurt someone or your-self….so what dog should we got? O.O

If this is a dog that will be spending a lot of time outside, and your location is prone to cold temperatures, then I advise you take the husky, as they are born to handle the cold, whereas a pitbull doesn’t have the thick protective fur. Either way, both dogs will need a lot of exercise, so that means spending time outdoors. If you take the pitbull, you may need to invest in warm coverings for his paws and torso. The breed of dog should depend on what you are able to offer it in terms of safety and comfort.

Pit Bulls are wonderful dogs. It is definitely an owner thing, not a dog thing. Just be sure to buy from a line that has been raised as pets , not as fighters. Pit Bulls are not the best dogs to be leaving outside for an extended time. They do get cold in the winter.

Huskys are beautiful dogs and will take better to being left outside in the cold, but they do take a far amount of exercise as they are sled dogs and if they get bored or lonely can make a lot of noise in complaint. Husky’s howl when left outside too much which might not go over well with your neighbors.

There are over 200 breeds available and all have slighly different temperaments. I would strong recommend you take the time to research all the different breeds.

Some landlords will not allow pitbulls because most people believe it’s not just the owner’s fault, pitbulls are aggressive by nature.

weimaraners are BEAUTIFUL dogs, I would love to have one. :D

Though i’ve only had one, i say pit bull. Yeah huskys are good for the cold weather but they have higher grooming expenses, & they shed a lot. My friend has two huskys & she says they like to dig, they jump over the wall, & they run off. (this much reminds me of my min pin lol…) My neighbor used to have a husky & she would chew up our fence to try to get to our dogs.. My cousin had a husky & he wasn’t the best dog, he had lots of nipping issues, & wasn’t good around the baby, plus he barked a lot. We had to babysit their dog & it tore up a lot of the house. He wasn’t a puppy either. Of course since the weathers cold if you get a pit bull they can’t be outside all the time, unless you have some type of shelter. & i agree with it’s just the owner. (:

We’ve got a collie just now. If i pet her when she sits on the chair next to me, when i stop she moves closer and closer to me. She is the funniest dog i have ever seen. I would reccomend a Border Collie
