Islam and Christianity?

I know that Muslims believe in Jesus, but they do not believe that he is the son of God. I had a Muslim friend and she said that she believes that Jesus is the Savior, that he will come back. If this is true, than why do some Christians believe Islam is a bad religion? Please no offensive comments to either religions, just factual and fairly opinionated answers. Thanks to all who answer!

Well, Jesus is called Isa in Arabic (not Yeshua as it should have been), he is a major prophet to whom revelation was given. He performed miracles but not of his own account, as god supposedly helped him do it. He is not the son of God as in Christianity. He is also known as Maseeh (Messiah) and ibne Maryam (son of Mary). He was not crucified, instead god lifted him up to heaven where he is currently alive in body and soul. He will return someday when the forces of the anti-Christ, Dajaal as he is known, and will join forces with the Mahdi, who is a futuristic Islamic leader who will head the battle against the forces of evil. According to Muslim belief, the Christ will defeat the anti-christ and a golden age will follow, during which Christ shall reign. He will marry and have kids and eventually die. A grave is already dug for him at Medina next to prophet muhammad.

Islam teaches belief in One God who neither gives birth nor was born Himself, and has no share in His caretaking of the world. God in Islam is the sole Creator, Lord, Sustainer, Ruler, Judge and Savior of the universe. In essence, Islam calls man away from the worship of creation and invites him to worship its Creator. (You alone we worship, and You alone we ask for help) : Quran. worship is a name that is connected to everything God loves and agrees, on whether it is related to sayings, interior and exterior deeds : prayer, giving alms, fasting, doing the pilgrimage, saying the truth, fulfillement of the pact, ordering to work out kindness and avoiding badness, invocation of God…are all kinds of worshipping God. An important issue in Islam is : Where is God? A muslim must believe that God rose high over His Throne above His creation, and that He is with them by His knowledge and He knows their conditions, hears their utterances, sees their places and controls their affairs.

Answer #3

I think the negativity stems from the radical part of the religion, and the extremists…

Jesus teaches us to love our neighbor, as ourselves…

and to me, that includes Islam…

and the radicals…

And the ones who mock and denigrade the faith…

Answer #4

The real issue is not about Jesus being the saviour, but Jesus being the son of God and muhamad being the prophet. Its becouse they believe differently.

Answer #5

WOW. That is a really good question because isnt that what christians believe also? Sorry for sounding dumb but, I thought christian meant to love everyone of their brothers and sisters and not judge. I think we all end up going to the same place in the end, no matter what your god belief is. All religions are striving to get to the same place but, I thought christian meant to love all and not judge. I may be wrong because I am new to this but, if so, I would like to know also. Melody

Its just a common misconceptions. I think all religions tie together at some point but small differences become problems and people exploit them because they think they are batter in some way.
