Imaginary friend When 12?

My younger friend has an imaginary friend at the age twelve. She needs to vent her emothions to it. Sometimes she thinks its real…but other times not. Is that ok??

Answer #1

I have two, freddy monster, and Tim. Im 13, its not so weird, its like someones there that you can talk to, no fights, and not complaining.

Answer #2

a lot of people have imaginary friends. Some can believe in it more then others. There is no age limit people can still have them at there middle ages. Try speaking to her about it. Ask her why she has an imaginary friend Maybe she neds someone to talk to but she doesnt know who the right person is

Answer #3

It’s a little unusual for a kid that age to have imaginary friends (especially if she is having trouble distinguishing between reality)

Answer #4

Hmm, I don’t think it’s that unusual to have imaginary friends at age 12 but, if she doesn’t have anyone else to talk too to vent her emotions with, I’d say she’s okay. Maybe she’s having trouble in her life and maybe you can sit down and talk to her about her problems. Be supportive either way. Having an imaginary friend probably won’t make her feel isolated or anything. To her, that must help.

Answer #5

Um, I don’t think she’s being very considerate of her friend if she imagines her friend on and off. I just need to think for the friend, I have a lot of imaginary friends and I’m 13. Unless the friend doesn’t mind, of course.
