I Need 9 Different Personalities

I’m writing a story about a guy who has MPD (multiple personality disorder; I can’t spell the DID one. :P) and am having a hard time thinking of at least 9 different personalities. As you know, people with MPD may have a different religion, sexual orientation, name or even gender. This is just like creating another person; it’s pretty easy. Thank you in advance. ^_^

Answer #1
  1. Regular Joe (gotta have that neutral character)
  2. Old man who used to be in the army and is convinced that everyday life is occurring on a battlefield
  3. abusive drunk who beats people and yells a lot
  4. Evangelist who sees sin wherever he goes
  5. Male stripper who thinks he’s at a gig (no matter where he is)
  6. Deep thinking poet - very quiet, observant and intelligent
  7. Racist hillbilly living in an all black town
  8. TV game show host trying to give out prizes to anyone who answers his questions correctly
  9. Evil genius plotting to take over the world with a laser beam he thinks is in his basement

I have many more, but those may give you a good starting point. Good luck :-)

Oh, and if you want names, I’d go with something where they all start with the same letter or something, like (1) Paul (2) Pistol (3) Patrick (4) Phillip (5) P. Strippy (6) Preston (7) Pete (8) Price (9) Paine

Have fun

Answer #4

Why on earth would you write a story about a person with multiple personalities when you can’t think of multiple personalities? It’s like writing about life on a tropical island if you’ve never left Kansas.

If you’re having a difficult time connecting with your subject, you need to pick a new subject. Otherwise, the reader is going to catch on very quickly that you don’t know what you’re talking about and your audience will flee.
