How do you solve for horizontal force?

Just as asked, does anyone know how you solve for horizontal force?

Answer #1

Do you mean, how to resolve a force into its horizontal components?

So you’re given a force of 10N at 30 degrees to the horizontal, and you’re asked what force does this produce on the horizontal axis?

If that is the case, you just take the force (10N) and times it by the cosine of the angle between the force vector and the horizontal

So this would give you:

10 because (30) = 8.66N
