Why is my dog missing hair on her back thighs?

Its kind of like this, but it’s on her theighs, this isn’t my picture, just saying. I thought it was mange, it could be but I dunno, she doesn’t really go to palces with other dogs so I don’t know how she would get it. Don’t say take her to the vet cause money is tight right now & it’s not affecting her health whatsoever, I’m just curious. & don’t go all ‘oh then you shouldn’t have a pet if you can’t take her to the vet you horrible pet owner rada rada rada’ if she was showing signs of pain we would take her asap. She was at the vet almost 2 months ago to get all of her shots & it was there still just not so noticeable & I guess the vet didn’t notice it, I dunno I wasn’t there.

Answer #2

IDK if it’s the same thing, but around this time my horses get this thing that’s similar. the hair on their back legs (on the front of their back legs) starts to come off, and i’ll rub their leg and white powdery sticky stuff comes off with the fur…I have had the vet out to look at it and he says it’s nothing. Happens every year with a lot of animals.

Answer #3

My dog started losing some of her hair on her back leg…but it was because she get nibbling on it…maybe your dog is itchy?

Answer #4

I think it’s cause that’s her favorite spot for me to scratch her, shes obsessed with me scratching her bum. o.o

Answer #5

Answer #6

Answer #7

Haha no it’s fine, thank you though.

Answer #8

More then likely allergies or a fungus. Take him to the vet, they’ll use a special light to detect fungus. If there isn’t any they’ll probably give him some benadryl and anti itch meds. you could Try giving him a regular human benadryl (same stuff for animals) once a day and see if his condition improves

Answer #9

i would say its the first stage of mange but at the ranch marts they sell a yellow paste called nu-stock leave it on for three days then wash it off then apply again if necessary if there is none then use burnt oil it works also
