I personally love the fact that they are starting to teach young girls to love themselves! I think what DOVE is doing is such a great thing. I recently started buying DOVE products to support them Does anybody else agree with me? Disagree, why?

Real women! Kudos to Dove for taking a risk and stepping up. Hopefully other companies will follow once they see the success of Dove's Real Women Campaign. Real women = real revenue!

I 100% agree with you. With TV, magazines, and just pressure in general some don't understand the pressure it puts on all girls...especially young girls. They are being taught early that they aren't good enough, and that they need to be perfect. It's not true! And it's about time that someone started this. It is an amazing thing, and I hope it continues. It's way overdue and I hope that many young girls will learn from this experience, and grow to love themselves for who they are.

A great phantom pic w/ a heart I made in it!! Answered by phantomturtle513 on Jul 20, 2008, 06:04PM

I, for one, am ALL FOR the campaign! This clip is my all-time favorite: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hibyAJOSW8U

Anyway, on to the other side of the argument...
I've heard a lot of critics of the campaign bash it by saying the whole premise is entirely hypocritical. Their argument is that the Dove campaign is challenging women to feel comfortable in their own skin...while marketing products aimed at altering a person's natural state. Ten bucks says the people who are putting forth this argument wear makeup, do their hair, and take other measures to 'alter their natural state,' too, which makes them hypocrites accusing others of hyocrisy...:P How entirely hypocritical...hmmm...*rolls eyes*
