What is the difference between a job application and a resume?

Sometimes the companies ask to attach a resume with the job application, but I think is the same thing. What do you think? If you know the difference tell me please thank you.

Answer #1

An application is a pre-printed fill in the blank generic form that the company has on hand for you to fill out. A resume is something you type up yourself describing your experience ect as well as anything else you would like the potential employer to know about you.

Answer #2

A resume is a way to “stand out’” among other applicants depending upon how you format it. It’s a chance to show your individuality, however there are certain guidleines that should be met and don’t make it too long……one page is enough

Answer #3

Whoops this belongs up there with my first answer.

Answer #4

A job application is a printed paper where some sub headings are written to get the information from the candidate or a fill in the blank paper from the company whereas a resume is a total information or bio data from the deserving candidate for the job.
