I’m sorry, I don’t mean to be rude…but…there are between 4 and 6 million cats put to sleep every year because there are too many cats and not enough homes. Why do you want to bring more into the world? Especially without doing research FIRST.

Cat pregnancy lasts about 65 days. The female should be in for her FeLV and FIV tests BEFORE pregnancy, as she could pass this on to her kittens. Be prepared to properly cut the kittens’ umbilical cords after pregnancy and be aware of all possible complications (ie. kittens being born still in the fluid-filled sac, pyometra, etc). Once the kittens are born, be sure they are all getting equal milk from their mother and feeding every 2-3 hours (yes, even in the middle of the night). Don’t force their eyes open or allow them outside as they could get parasites, feline leukemia or FIV. Finally, make sure to get them vaccinated against these diseases AND dewormed BEFORE they go into a home- this costs about $40 per kitten.

Ditto…DITTO…ditto!!!

Sometime when you don’t have anything else to do, why not run down to the County Animal Shelter for “kill day”…you might find some food for thought, and introspection…like…what’s the REAL reason you don’t care if you contribute to an already overwheming problem.
