You could try the darker golden colors to fit in with a silver or gray color for an edgier affect.
Try looking at some older photos where edges have been burnt or photos developed with error.
I was in photography for a while and I always saw the color through the picture, even though it was seen as black and white.
Galleries are usually painted a neutral colour, like grey or stone, so as not to distract the eye from the photographs. That's not so good to live with, if it's a living room or your only room. Grey is a cold colour; I'm visiting in the Philippines just now and a lot of people use grey to cool the feeling of the room. I'd think a warm, slightly cream, stone colour might be good. I'm not sure what jskap means by darker, but I'd not want my room too dark, because such colours absorb the light and make it hard to see properly.
How does this site work? I'm not Chloe Lin, I'm Chatty Li - Chloe's sitting beside me. We seem to have had some finger trouble.

I want to redo my room, but I don’t know where to start. I know I want to have a black and white (photography) themed room. I will hang only black and white photos on the room, but I also wanted to incorporate film cassettes somehow. I’m not too sure what color to paint my room to give it a photography kind of feel. I’m sure white may be an obvious suggestion, but do you have any other suggestion on the color for the room or set up?
