How to convince my Mom to allow a puppy?

I really want to have a puppy my dad agrees but my mum doesn’t I don’t know why but what should I do?

Answer #1

Find out why your Mom doesn’t think it’s a good idea - maybe you can approach it from the angle of trust - with the puppy I’ll demonstrate that I can be responsible - not missing any feedings/water/kept washed/train - other than that, you can make it your annual Birthday / Christmas wish…Good luck !!

Yes, Responsibility is the name of the game.

I solely have raised and trained my 2 “babies” (Female - 1 yr) and (Male - 7 months), because my hubby works and besides, he bought them for me. :)))

Let me tell you that it is work and you must do it every single day, rain or shine or whether you are not feeling well.

Crate training a puppy works well and from this you can explain that you will make sure that your puppy goes out every few hours to pee and potty. Make it clear that you will clean up the dog mess each and every time that the puppy goes. Basically, when I take my dogs out around the property, I carry a roll of paper towels with me, and if they go potty, then I clean it up right then and there.

You will make sure that he always has fresh water.

You will need to make sure that the puppy has plenty of toys and chews because when he is teething or gets bored, your sneakers or the legs of moms furniture suddenly become very appetizing!!

You will brush him and use doggie wipes on him to clean and freshen.

You will take the necessary steps to ensure that fleas are not an issue. (As an additional precaution, I put flea powder in my vacuum canister). You will train your puppy to obey your commands.

Would your mom want the puppy fixed? You can do this at 6 months of age and at that time, he would receive his shots, if he has not already had them.

Under your state’s laws, you will take the steps to make sure your puppy has the necessary shots and receives it’s dog license.

If you outline your projected plan of raising a puppy and your mom sees how much effort you have put into the training plan, then perhaps she will give you a trial period with the puppy.

In the end, it is up to you to prove that you are responsible.

Answer #3

1.Tell her why you want the puppy/or pet. 2.Show your mom you’re responsible by helping out around the house. And possibly helping out even more to raise money for the puppy or dog. 3.Find out why she doesn’t like the idea! Good luck.

Answer #4

Ask your mom the reasons why. Then ask your mom to prepare a list of questions about the dog. Explain to her how you will handle it everyday, pay the monthly or yearly shots. If she hates dogs try to get a good-natured not scary or vicious dog. If she had a dog when she was young tell her how its not fair.

Care for it for a couple of days or weeks. Show your mom how responsible you r of your dog and make sure she doesn’t think your just doing that now but when you get your own dog you wont take care of it as good

Answer #6

well frist why does ur mom not want a puppy
but i was ganna say jus show her that u r responsible and u will talk care of the puppt when u get

Answer #7

Explain to her how much you want the dog and that you will take care of him/her. Its your moms choice and if the only reason she wont let you is because she thinks your not responsible then prove it. if she just doesnt want a puppy then im sorry but i dont think you can convince her.

Answer #8

I think that you should first ask if you could foster a puppy or dog. This will show them that you can handle a dog and if she notices that you can take care of a dog or pet than then ask here for a pet of your own.

Hope this will help
