I lived in San Jose Costa Rica for ~8 months, was a terrible experience - long story. The guy that attempted theft of my laptop never went to jail, and it was right outside the airport the day we left...
...if it had happened in the US, the guy would have been on the ground with a gun to his head 
Aparte de la situacion con la compania donde trabaje alli, nunca podiamos salir de la ciudad porque yo estaba trabajando seis dias por la semana, & 12-16 horas por dia. Fue no muy bien, en la realidad, why por todo eso, nunca me voy a regresar por alli.
